Neu Leopoldau Business Park

Structural Engineering
Concrete construction
Steel construction
Wood construction

The three historic buildings of the former Leopoldau gasworks—the main workshop, the administration building, and the metalworking shop—were renovated, converted, and expanded to enable their reuse for commercial purposes. Today, they form the “Gewerbehof Neu Leopoldau,” featuring office, retail, and warehouse space as well as 35 workshops—a place that combines historical heritage with modern space for crafts, commerce, and startups.

From a structural engineering perspective, new reinforced concrete ribbed slabs (with spans of up to 11.3 m), a stair and elevator tower with a connecting level, and reinforcements to the truss members were installed in the main workshop.

The administrative building was structurally reinforced, and a new mezzanine level was added. The top floor slab was reinforced with concrete; anchor bolts and steel brackets ensure structural integrity. In the metalworking shop, an arched wooden roof structure was constructed that rests on the existing trusses.
