Olang 1+2 Gondola Lift

Structural Engineering
Steel construction

The brand-new 10-passenger Olang 1 and 2 gondola lift creates a new connection from the Olang valley station (1,164 m) to the Kronplatz summit station (2,275 m). The modern Doppelmayr cable car technology is framed by playfully designed free-form structures featuring membrane architecture. The station buildings are equipped with a translucent outer shell. This allows the façade to offer a view of the technology from the outside as well as a view of the landscape from the inside. The firm gbd is responsible for the load-bearing steel structure. This was carried out on behalf of the contractors IN-Metall GmbH from Sinich and the membrane construction for Temme&Obermeier GmbH from Rosenheim. The work was completed in October 2020 with the completion of the facade installation at the middle station and the mountain station.
