Dornbirn Hospital (AÖK) is undergoing an expansion and state-of-the-art upgrade of its operating rooms and sterilization areas. The existing facilities are also being renovated, and the layout and functionality of the ancillary rooms are being adapted. The challenge of the renovation lies in the fact that the various phases are being carried out while the hospital remains in operation, requiring a constant guarantee that at least five operating rooms are always ready for use. Ultimately, the AÖK will have seven new operating rooms at its disposal. The expanded metal mesh on the facade of the new addition features varying mesh sizes. This allows hospital staff to look out from the surrounding sterile supply corridor.
