New Construction of School Extension VS Bludenz Mitte

The expansion of the historic school building, originally constructed in 1886, is now complete. Two new wings made of reinforced concrete complement the listed structure and blend harmoniously into the park-like surroundings. The clean, minimalist architecture reinterprets the typology of the historic perforated façade in an abstract form using exposed concrete, creating a dynamic interplay between old and new.

Inside, bright, spacious rooms, acoustic enhancements, and state-of-the-art ventilation and security systems create a modern learning environment. With the “Schule im Park,” Bludenz now boasts another architectural gem that seamlessly blends history and the present.
