Truss Bridge Transverse Bulkhead

FEM analysis
Structural engineering
Steel construction

Technical data:
Verification of the dent resistance of thin, perforated transverse bulkheads

Loads:
Dead load, wind, live loads, settlement of supports, and seismic loads

Modeling:
Modeling using volume elements

Nonlinearities: Geometric and material nonlinearity analyses of the

Buckling resistance:
Determination of buckling resistance using a geometrically and materially nonlinear analysis with imperfections (GMNIA) in accordance with EN 1993-1-6. The imperfections were obtained by upscaling the buckling modes determined using linear analysis. The structure, pre-deformed in this manner, is then subjected to a nonlinear analysis to determine the load increase factor.
